We expanded the options for rural healthcare with medical consults, specialty care, education and more. Telehealth and Telemedicine
Telehealth is the use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care (Telemedicine), patient and professional health-related education and administration via video-conferencing, the internet, streaming media, wireless communications and more. Telehealth is an even broader scope of remote healthcare services that includes Telemedicine.

Endocrinology
Walla Walla clinic, Walla Walla Washington
Emily Castillo, NP with the Walla Walla Clinic, sees patients every Thursday morning at the Regional Medical Clinic. She sees diabetic patients 18 and older including those on insulin pumps. Emily Castillo will see patients for their first appointment in Walla Walla, Washington.

Medical Oncology
St. Alphonsus, Boise, Idaho
Maynard Bronstein, MD, PhD practices oncology and is based at Grande Ronde Hospital. Telemedicine services are provided for his established patients by St. Alphonsus oncologists when Dr. Bronstein is out for extended periods so that there is no lapse in care. Patients still arrive at Dr. Bronstein’s office at Grande Ronde Hospital but see the oncologist on call via In-Touch robot technology, so there is no need to travel to Boise.
Neurology

John Nutt, MD , Jeff Kraakevik, MD, and Matthew Brodsky, MD with OHSU, see patients as needed at the Regional Medical Clinic. They specialize in the evaluation and treatment of Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders.

Stroke
OHSU, Portland, Oregon
Wayne Clark, MD of the OHSU Stroke Center, sees patients as needed at the Regional Medical Clinic for post-stroke care and recovery. Typically these patients were treated for their acute stroke event at OHSU and then enrolled in their research trials.

Inpatient and Emergency Services
Through our telehealth program, we are able to tap into specialty expertise that is typically only available in larger cities. If you present to our emergency department or admitted to our hospital, our local hospital staff may request the services of doctors listed below.

Our tele-hospitalist group provides nightly call coverage along with 24/7 support services for our Hospitalists. Their expertise combined with the use of our In-Touch robot technology helps make our Hospitalist program superior.

Foreign Language & Sign Language Interpretation
If a patient needs to converse in a language other than English, or are deaf, hearing or speech impaired, our hospital may use the service of Stratus InDemand Interpreting. Stratus InDemand offers around the clock video and audio interpreting services provided by certified medical interpreters.
TeleVisit & NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) - TeleBaby
Sometimes life takes unexpected turns and patients, including newborns, may be urgently transported to another hospital within the region. If new parents or family find themselves unexpectedly separated from their loved ones, we can arrange for a TeleVisit if the patient is admitted to any of the hospitals listed below.
