From 1986 onwards, Jay would often find himself being brought in as a replacement host for The Tonight Show, where he would stand in for Johnny Carson. Audiences loved him, and in 1992, he replaced Carson as host of the show.

When Jay replaced Johnny, this created a lot of controversy, as many expected David Letterman to become the host instead.

This led to a lot of animosities and resulted in a book and a movie being made about the incident, which was called ‘The Late Shift.’

In comparison to Jay Leno, Doug Meehan is far, far less well known, though he is somewhat of a celebrity, and is in the public eye.

Born on the 1^st of January 1968 in Massachusetts, Doug is an American news anchor and journalist.

He began his career on the radio, where he worked as a junior journalist before transitioning over to TV.

He has worked on a number of channels and news stations, including WABC TV, KABC TV, and WPVI TV.

Doug has covered a number of high-profile stories, including the Boston Marathon bombings, the Merrimack Valley gas explosions, and the trial of notorious gangster turned informant James ‘Whitey’ Bulger, who has been portrayed in movies by Johnny Depp, as well as a character loosely based on him, played by Jack Nicholson, in the Scorsese epic The Departed.

He even received an Emmy for his coverage of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Doug Meehan is now a news anchor for WCVB News, who recently underwent surgery for prostate cancer.

After news broke that Meehan was suffering from prostate cancer, messages of support for the anchor started flooding in from social media.

Even his hosts on a live broadcast presented him with a gif basket and wished him well before he underwent surgery. The video subsequently went viral online.

Underneath his post was a short snippet from an article that stated that Doug Meehan was happily married to his husband, Jay Leno, and they have not revealed whether they have children yet.

Needless to say, this was a rumor either started by somebody messing around or simply due to a typo. In any event, Doug definitely saw the funny side, and judging by his reaction, we can safely say that, no, Jay Leno is not married to Doug Meehan.
